Frequently Asked Questions

Please read these before asking on stream! I don’t mind answering questions, but these are the ones I tend to get a lot.

Do you have any tips for drawing [thing]?
Unfortunately it is hard for me to give tips without more context. For general art tips, try checking out my Youtube channel. or searching on Google. If you’re struggling with something more specific, feel free to ask!

How long have you been drawing for?
I used to draw as a kid, but I quit for 10+ years to focus on my software engineering career. I recently started drawing more seriously in late 2019 so I could draw Fire Emblem Three Houses husbandos.

How did you get started with art?
There was an #art channel in the Overwatch discord server I was a part of.

Which brushes do you use?
You can get them here.

What is your canvas size?
I like 4000x4000 pixels, but generally, as big as you can make it without your pc lagging is good. As long as you can’t see pixels when you zoom in.

How old are you?
Secret

How do I make money from art?
If I knew I would be rich.

Do you do traditional art?
I used to, but not much nowadays.

I’ve never drawn before. How do I get started with drawing?
I think the most important thing for a beginner to do is to find out what you enjoy drawing. If you find it fun, everything else falls into place. I also have a video about it here. If you’d prefer a more structured approach, drawabox is an option — though I find this sort of person also tends to overdo it and burn themselves out immediately, then decide that they hate drawing after all.

Which tablet should I get?
Wacom tablets are good, if price is not a concern. For non-display tablets, Consider XPPEN. For display tablets, any generation 2 tablet from XPPEN or Huion are pretty good.

What program do you use to draw?
Mostly Clip Studio Paint.

How do I submit critiques?
They’re sometimes available as Twitch channel point redeems on my stream.

How did you make your pixel VTuber model?
I designed the initial concept but the vtuber was made by Mr. Pokati.

Are you left handed?
Yes.

Which resources do you recommend to learn anatomy?
Michael Hampton's Design and Invention and Anatomy for Sculptors are two of my favs.

How do you keep motivated?
I just really love drawing. There’s nothing else I’d rather be doing. I love studying too, because I love seeing improvements in my work.

Who are your art inspirations?
I don’t have any in particular!

Where do you find your references?
Mostly off Google or Pinterest. I have a few reference packs from Grafit studies for nudes. Sometimes I use 3d models from SketchFab as reference.

How do you decide what to study? Do you have a schedule?
Typically I observe a thing that I’m bad or or would like to improve at, and just work on that until I feel satisfied. I have never had a schedule because they make me feel constrained.

Where can I sign up for online art classes?
The Workshop Academy, Underpaint Academy, and Brainstorm School are three places you can look. I only sign up for classes where I can get personalized feedback and critique. I mostly pick classes that don’t require me to wake up at stupid o’clock in my time zone.
